The XR1064 is a part the new Eighteen Sound XR horn series. With a throat entry of 1 inch, the XR1064 has been developed to reach the optimum performance when it will coupled with 1 inch exit Eighteen Sound high frequency compression drivers.
All XR horn series have been designed in order to reach smooth driver frequency response, to maintain constant coverage and directivity and eliminating the midrange narrowing and high frequency beaming problems common of many similar horns on the market.
XR series are made in die cast aluminium material in order to obtain the best performance under many point of view:
- thermal: aluminum horns are capable to reduce up to 30�C the steady state compression driver working temperature at full power, when compared to equivalent size plastic horn. This gives lower power compression ratio (down to 1dB) and higher driver power handling (30% higher);
- mechanical: aluminum horns do not require any support for the compression driver (like brackets), and at the same time eliminate the problem of horn resonance with optimum waterfall and impulse system behaviour.
The XR1064 maintains nominal 60� Horizontal x 40� Vertical pattern control. It provides consistent on-axis and off-axis frequency response from 1,6kHz to 16kHz in both horizontal and vertical planes. Horn directivity is constant down to 1,6kHz.

Featuring the unique Eighteen Sound elliptical shape, the XT120 Constant Coverage High Frequency Horn has been designed for use in sound systems where top quality is required. With a 1" throat entry diameter, the XT120 has been designed to match the HD120, ND1030 and ND1020 high frequency compression drivers exactly.
The XT120 maintains nominal 90� Horizontal x 60� Vertical pattern control. It provides constant on-axis and off-axis frequency response from 2kHz to 16kHz in the horizontal plane and from 2,5kHz to 16kHz in the vertical plane. The XT120 smooth flare rate provides constant directivity from 2,5kHz, low distortion and a spherical wave front, avoiding the typical reflections usually associated with diffraction horns.
The XT120 is made from high pressure die cast polyurethane foam and has been designed to be free of resonance and vibrations in order to assure maximum strength. Computer Aided Finite Element Analysis, as well as extensive testing were used to obtain the horn contours.

With a 1" throat entry, the XT1086 has been designed to match the Eighteen Sound 1 inch exit high frequency compression drivers perfectly.
The XT1086 maintains nominal 80� Horizontal x 60� Vertical pattern control. It provides consistent on-axis and off-axis frequency response from 1,4kHz to 16kHz in the horizontal plane and from 1,5kHz to 16kHz in the vertical plane. Horn directivity is constant from 1,4kHz. Thanks to its compact vertical mouth dimension, the XT1086 can easily be staked vertically when lower frequency control is required.
The main innovation that the XT1086 introduces, is the improved external shape, providing high structural rigidity. This has been developed using exclusive a computer aided vibration analysis system. This product provides low distortion and a spherical wave-front, avoiding reflections and other disadvantages usually associated with diffraction horns. The die-cast aluminum construction provides optimum heat transfer, lowering the driver power compression and improving its general power handling capability.
