    The XR1496 has been designed in order to obtain a smooth frequency response maintaining constant coverage and directivity pattern, and avoiding the midrange narrowing effect as well as high frequency beaming problems.&lt;br/&gt;With a throat entry of 1,4 inch, the XR1496 has been developed to reach the optimum performance when it will coupled with 1,4 inch exit Eighteen Sound high frequency compression drivers.&lt;br/&gt;The die cast aluminium construction brings the following advantages:&lt;br/&gt;- thermal: aluminum horns are capable to reduce up to 30°C the steady state compression driver working temperature at full power, when compared to an equivalent size plastic horn. With a 1.4&quot; throat entry, the XT1464 has been designed to exactly match the new generation of neodymium high frequency compression drivers, namely the ND1480, ND1460 and NSD1480N.&lt;br/&gt;The XT1464 maintains nominal 60° Horizontal x 50° Vertical pattern control. It provides consistent on-axis and off-axis frequency response from 800Hz to 15kHz in the horizontal plane and from 1,5kHz to 15kHz in the vertical plane. Horn directivity is constant from 1,5kHz. Thanks to its compact vertical mouth dimensions, the XT1464 can easily be staked vertically when lower frequency control is required.&lt;br/&gt;The horn structure made from high-pressure die-cast polyurethane foam eliminates resonance and vibrations and assures maximum strength.
